MOTHER'S DAY ACTIVITIES

No pubs, no restaurants, no retail therapy…thinking of Mother’s Day activities in lockdown isn’t always easy. Some of us may not be lucky enough to see our mum in person but that doesn't mean you can't go virtual for the day!

If you’re lacking inspiration do not fear - we’re here to help! In fact, your schedule might just be too full…

Breakfast in bed

If you can’t visit the restaurant then bring the restaurant to you! Added bonus - your mum will get to eat in the comfort of her bed with a well-deserved lie in. Why not treat her to something she loves but wouldn’t normally have time to make herself. We’re opting for pancakes - top tip: add her favourite toppings (you just can’t go wrong with a bit of Biscoff!).

Take a scenic walk

There’s really no better feeling than getting a breath of fresh air on a warm sunny day. So, if the weather’s in our favour why not take your mum on a stroll in your local area. Whether it be a park, a walk by the river or a stroll around the city, you’re sure to gain some valuable one on one time with your mum.

Afternoon tea

If your mum has a sweet tooth then why not treat her to a home made afternoon tea. We’re thinking cream scones, shortbread, finger sandwiches and her favourite pot of brew *drools*. You could even throw in a bottle of prosecco to make it boozy! If you're unable to be with your mum today, you can enjoy these treats on a zoom catch up.

Flower arranging/ pressing

Fresh flowers are a lovely reminder that Spring is in full bloom. Why not make the most of it and create fresh bouquets with your mum as a fun afternoon activity. You could even buy a flower press to spice things up a bit! If you're unable to see your mum you could surprise her with handmade letterbox flowers. Top tip - visit your local flower market for inspiration!

Create a scrapbook

What better time to get out your printed photos and create something special? You could create the scrapbook yourself and send it if you are unable to be with your mum or alternatively you could make one together - a fun and nostalgic Mother's Day activity. Luckily we have a wonderful selection of notebooks just for the job.

Virtual gin-tasting

Now who doesn't love a bit of gin? Jazz up your zoom call and enjoy a virtual gin-tasting evening together! Gather up a selection of G & T's that you know she will love - there's no better way to help your mum let her hair down. We'll drink to that!

At home spa evening

Just because spa days are off the cards doesn’t mean that you can’t treat your mum to a good pamper. We’re thinking face masks, hair-masks, manicures and if you’re feeling extra nice maybe you could treat her to massage too (self taught, of course!). Luckily we’ve got a hair-mask, hair wrap and beauty balm to assist your at home spa experience.
